Welcome to Cofluxus, where your personal tastes in the Arts and Entertainment world take centre stage. 🙏
You’re part of a ground-breaking research initiative that transcends mainstream trends to unearth hidden cultural gems, carefully tailored to your unique interests.
By sharing your preferences, you’ll help craft a 'discovery engine' that curates content designed specifically for you.
As you contribute, you’ll receive recommendations based on the tastes of like-minded individuals. Whether you're drawn to cinema, literature, visual arts, or music, expect to uncover new works that resonate with your creative sensibilities. 😉
You can explore the site (from the main feed or by using the search bar) for artists, artworks and movies. Wherever you are on the site, you will see tiles that depict works that you can interact with. In the image below, you can see an example of what we mean.
You can rate the quality of a work by using the star scale. In the example below, you can see that a user has rated the painting 4 stars out of 5.
You can use the heart to indicate what you personally love, which may differ from your quality rating. Think of these works as your favourites.
You can use the bookmark button (see image below) to save works so you can view them later in your profile. These might be artworks from artists you do not know but want to find out more about, or a movie that looks intriguing that you want to come back to.
If you have no interest in a certain piece of work (don’t know it or don’t care) you can hide it from your feed. For any work you don't know or prefer to ignore right now, you can just scroll past, or you can use the 'snooze' button to hide it from your feed in the future.
By clicking on the image within a tile, you can also discover more about the artist, artwork or movie you are viewing.
You can then add a comment about the work you are viewing. In addition, you can browse comments from other users, agree or disagree, and rate the quality of the comment provided, and follow users.
At the top of the site, you can click on 'My Collection' to view all your interactions. This includes all your ratings, favourites, comments, and users followed.
We are trying to do something the Internet was intended for - to make sharing information safe and enjoyable and mutually beneficial for everyone.
In Phase One we are conducting research into the tastes and opinions of members across all the arts and entertainments (starting with artworks, artists and movies). We want to understand all the connections and use them to create algorithms that enable discovery and recommendation, as well as discussion and sharing (for those who want it).
In Phase Two we will add other content such as music, books, philosophy, psychology, nature, food, travel and sports.
Going forward, Cofluxus will keep expanding to become an even richer social catalogue where members can add their own discoveries from across the internet, including tagged links to any kind of content.
We will enable you to curate your personal archives, where you can share whatever you want.
Does this explain the site reasonably well?
